Ducati is known for making some of the most obnoxious and desirable motorcycles on the planet - but now there's a more enviro-conscious offering that looks perfect for the urban commute.
Meet the Ducati E-Scrambler E-Bike - a new addition to the Italian motorcycle specialist's catalogue, and one that not on brings the brand to a new level in terms of affordability, it also lends a green edge to its overall footprint.

The E-Scrambler is codeveloped by Ducati and dedicated e-bike brand Thok Ebikes, and comes with a 504 watt-hour battery teamed to a 250-watt Shimano Steps motor. The pedal-assist "trekking" bike has an 11-speed transmission and four-piston brakes, both from Sram, and it rides on Pirelli Cycl-E GT rubber.
Accessories available include headlight and tail-light, turn signals, mudguards, and rear bag attachment tray. The bike is constructed from aluminium to keep the weight down, though the battery will add a little bit of additional mass to the frame.
We said it's affordable - and it is, if you're tossing up between an e-bike and a 2015 Hyundai Accent, that is. It will start at €3699 in Europe (AUD $6058), which does make it a bit more appealing than the next cheapest Ducati motorbike, the Scrambler Sixty2 which starts at about $12,490.
