Launched in 2014, the monocoque-bodied Land Rover Discovery Sport was designed to bring the price point of the British marque down to more accessible levels.
Based on the Range Rover Evoque's architecture, the Discovery Sport comes in five-seater and '5+2' seven-seater configurations, and essentially repalced the ageing Freelander 2. Engine choices run to four-cylinder petrol and diesel turbos, with all-wheel drive for genuine off-road chops, aided by Land Rover’s terrain response system.
In 2019 a substantially re-engineered facelift arrived, bringing increased electrification as well as fewer variant choices. The cheapest grade starts from $80,970, rising to $102,125 for the most expensive version.
