Could this electric three-row Cadillac SUV come to Australia after the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq launches next year?

There's a chance the Vistiq will follow the already-confirmed Lyriq electric SUV to Australia as its bigger sibling.

Another potential model to join the Cadillac Lyriq when the brand makes its much-anticipated launch in Australia has been revealed in the US overnight, the Cadillac Vistiq.

A three-row SUV slotting in between the mid-size Lyriq and the properly large Escalade IQ, the Cadillac Vistiq is an electric car (thus the brand's 'iq' identifier at the end of its name) set for a global launch by 2025, with more details like specifications and pricing to come in 2024.

The brand has only released two images of the Vistiq so far, with no interior teasers, but this means a badge on the rear is visible and points to its potential drivetrain.

Making the connection with the incoming Lyriq means the Vistiq pictured could boast something close to the brand's 370kW/610Nm dual-motor drivetrain, where the '600 E4' badge on the tailgate refers to (about) 600Nm and electric all-wheel drive.

This set up in the Lyriq has a claimed 494km of range thanks to a 100.4kWh battery, though the larger Vistiq could come with different specifications - especially if it's on a different version of the BEV3 EV skateboard architecture.

While more details will come soon and confirm whether the Vistiq is bound for Australia, its announcement comes only a month after the reveal of the smaller Cadillac Optiq SUV, which similarly sounds like a rejected member of the X-Men.

Cadillac global vice-president John Roth said the next two years will see the brand lean hard into electrification when it comes to SUVs, with an aim to have a product in "most luxury SUV segments" for key markets.

"Vistiq adds another compelling EV to the Cadillac lineup, reinforcing our commitment to an electric future," said Roth.

"Our brand now has an EV entry in most luxury segments, offering customers a range of choices, and Cadillac EVs will cover most luxury SUV segments across critical global markets in the next two years."
